The autopsy report for Brooke Hanlon, a 35-year-old mother found stabbed to death in her Chester, New Jersey, home, has been released, confirming the manner of death as homicide due to “sharp force injuries.” Hanlon was discovered at her residence on Pottersville Road, leaving behind a 1-year-old daughter.

The autopsy was performed by Morris County Medical Examiner Dr. Di Wang on June 7, one day after Hanlon was found dead. The findings align with information previously released by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. The report notes that representatives from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Chester police department were present during the examination.

Despite the release of the report, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has not announced any arrests or identified any persons of interest in the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not disclosed whether a murder weapon was recovered from the scene.

Hanlon’s husband, Conor, was the first to find her unresponsive. In a 911 call obtained by media, he told an operator there was a “laceration” on his wife’s body while receiving instructions on how to perform CPR. Conor Hanlon has publicly denied any involvement in his wife’s death. Neighbors on Pottersville Road have reported that he has been spending nights at the home, having previously split his time between Chester and the Boston area.

Friends of the victim have expressed frustration regarding the lack of updates in the case. Jennifer Payne, a graduate school friend and former roommate of Hanlon, previously described the situation as “confusing, heartbreaking and incredibly frustrating.” Meanwhile, Hanlon’s family has stated they maintain “full and unwavering confidence in the investigative efforts of law enforcement.”
